WINTHROP — Norwood-Young America defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 25-6, 25-15, 25-21 on Tuesday in nonconference volleyball action.

Miah Busse had 11 digs for the Thunderbirds and Hannah Panitzke had eight digs and three blocks. Jordan Rettig had eight set assists.

GFW hosts New Ulm Cathedral on Tuesday.

GSL 3, Sibley East 0

ARLINGTON — Glencoe-Silver Lake swept Sibley East 25-19, 25-15, 25-18 in a nonconference volleyball match on Tuesday.

For Sibley East, Rachel Rettmann had 12 kills and two blocks and Kasha Bates had three blocks and two ace serves. Madi Krentz had 14 set assists and four kills and Morgan Mathews finished with five set assist.

Sibley East (1-1) hosts Southwest Christian on Thursday.

WWG 3, Springfield 1

SPRINGFIELD — Westbrook-Walnut Grove defeated Springfield in four sets of nonconference volleyball action on Tuesday night, 25-18, 22-25, 25-18, 25-17.

For the Tigers, Brittany Rogotzke had 17 digs, while Eva Mark had seven set assists and one ace. Kora Wahl had 10 kills and a block for Springfield, while Taylor Augustin had four kills and two blocks.

Courtney Wendt had 12 digs, three digs and two aces for the Tigers, while Chelsey Havemeier had nine kills and two blocks.

The Tigers (0-3) are at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s at 7 p.m. on Thursday to open conference play.
