Jody Hansen named Tomahawk Conference Softball Player of the Year

Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s senior Jody Hansen was named the Tomahawk Conference softball player of the year while Sleepy Eye coaches Tim Hoffmann and Sydney Geiger were named coaches of the year.

New Ulm Cathedral, which took fourth in the state tournament, had Rose Hazuka, Josie Pautzke, Lauryn Franta, Jenna Helget and Sarah Mohr named to the All-Conference team. St. Mary’s had Hansen, Ali Beltz, Dani Weiss and Mallory Helget named All-Conference with Alexa Owens and Leah Weiss being named honorable mention.

For Sleepy Eye, Lauren Klein and Alexa Steffl were named All-Conference and Brynja Mielke, Mariah Miller and McKenna Strong were named honorable mention.

Wabasso’s Emily Benz, Megan Rothmeier, Jenna Frank and Cora Eichten were named All-Conference while Sarah Franta and Allison Fenger were named honorable mention. Lexi Fischer of Minnesota Valley Lutheran was All-Conference and Kylie Ulrich was honorable mention and Springfield’s Elizabeth Johnson was honorable mention.
