Madi Heiderscheidt named Tomahawk Girls’ Player of the Year

Class A state runner-up Sleepy Eye had four players honored by the Tomahawk Conference in girls’ basketball.

Madi Heiderscheidt was named the Player of the Year and her teammate Brianna Polesky was also named to the all-conference team. Sarah Ibarra and Mya Ibberson were named honorable mention.

Wabasso had Jenna Frank and Madison Guetter named to the all-conference team and Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop had Emily Heimkes named all-conference and Maddy Elder named honorable mention.

Abby Jemmings and Taylor Rose were named all-conference for Cedar Mountain/Comfrey and Jody Hansen was named all-conference for St. Mary’s while teammates Madison Mathiowetz and Sydney Windschitl were named honorable mention for the Knights.

Springfield’s Sydney Hauger, New Ulm Cathedral’s Rose Hazuka and Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart’s Sara Kottke were also named all-conference. Minnesota Valley Lutheran’s Emma Nelson and Lauren Paulsen were named honorable mention.

Sleepy Eye’s Ryan Hulke was named the Coach of the Year.
