Foley has a huge night but Eagles fall

Jordan 57, New Ulm 24

JORDAN — New Ulm’s Connor Foley set numerous records on Friday night in a 57-24 loss to Jordan.

Foley set a state record with 320 receiving yards in a game, breaking the previous mark of 307 yards. Foley also set the New Ulm High School record for receiving yards in a season. The previous record was 747 yards and Foley now has 991 on the year with one regular season game left and playoffs ahead.

Foley also scored all four of New Ulm’s touchdowns. Tyler Walls threw for 276 yards and three touchdowns and Hunter Ranweiler also threw a touchdown pass.

Defensively for New Ulm, Joe Fortwengler had 11 tackles and Brett Bianchi had 8 assisted tackles, 2 solo tackles and a sack.

New Ulm (3-4) hosts Fairmont on Wednesday in the regular-season finale.

NUC 44, TMB 6

TRACY — New Ulm Cathedral defeated Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 44-6 on Friday in a Southwest District, East District football game.

Cathedral’s Colton Braulick had two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown. He rushed for 92 yards and scored on a 2-point conversion.

Nathan Hauser scored two touchdowns and rushed for 93 yards, and David Berg had one touchdown and rushed for 117 yards.

Jake Manderfeld had a touchdown and went 4-for-6 passing for 49 yards. Manderfeld also completed a 2-point conversion pass to Andrew McClain.

Cathedral (5-2) hosts Springfield at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Wabasso 32, MCC 0

WABASSO — Wabasso stayed unbeaten as it defeated Murray County Central 32-0 in a Southwest District, East District football game on Friday night.

Wabasso’s Cooper Taylor scored three touchdowns and rushed for 229 yards. He scored on runs of 29, 12, and 6 yards.

Kyle Jacobson scored on an 8-yard run, and Nick Altermatt threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Colton Taylor. Colton Taylor also rushed for 74 yards.

Wabasso (7-0) plays at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in Adrian.

Nicollet 47, GHEC/T 22

NICOLLET — Nicollet defeated Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman 47-22 on Friday in a 9-Man South District, Central Subdistrict football game.

Nicollet’s Ean Thomsen had two touchdowns and rushed 118 yards. He went 18-for-31 passing for 220 yards. Avery Northquest had two touchdowns and rushed 52 yards. He also had two tackles. Anthony Macias had two touchdowns and had 103 receiving yards.

Nicollet (4-3) plays at Buffalo-Lake-Hector-Stewart at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Sibley East 29, GFW 0

ARLINGTON — Sibley East blanked Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop in South Central District, Blue Subdistrict action.

Gavin Bates rushed for 138 yards for the Wolverines and rushed for two touchdowns.

GFW (0-7) hosts Norwood-Young America on Wednesday.
