SPRINGFIELD — Springfield defeated Stark 9-3 on Saturday night to advance to the state amateur baseball tournament.

Isaac Fink earned the win. He went six innings, allowed three hits and one run. Brandon Wilhelmi earned the save.

Pat Moriarty had two hits and Fink had two hits and two RBIs. Sam Baier had a three-run RBI double and Ryan Sturm also had two hits.

Springfield opens state tournament play at 5 p.m. on Friday in Norwood Young America against Sobieski.
