NU Film Society strolls through the park with a screening of ‘Jurassic Park’

NEW ULM – The New Ulm Film Society will continue its Steven Spielberg director series with a screening of his top film in terms of financial success. Or maybe that should be tricera-Top film. The screening is at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13 at the New Ulm Public Library. Released in 1993 and based on a novel by Michael Crichton, “Jurassic Park” is science-fiction thriller about the chaotic breakdown of a theme park featuring cloned dinosaurs. By now the video of  ICE shooting Good in her car has been seen by millions world wide and for many this incident feels all too familiar to the 2020 death of George Floyd. We spent a weekend in the Cities in December. Pam’s family was celebrating Christmas at her niece’s house. We found a VRBO in Bloomington where we stayed. It was an apartment we rented in a larger building with mostly permanent residents. We had two evenings and mornings to lounge about. There was a large central area where people came and went. To the editor: This morning, Jan. 7, in Minneapolis, a woman driving an SUV was murdered by an ICE agent while trying to move her vehicle at the direction of another ICE agent. The shooter was off to the side of the woman’s vehicle and shot what appeared to be several shots. ICE has said that she was shot in the face. The 2,000 deployment of ICE agents and the cuts in child care funds to Minnesota and other states that didn’t vote for Trump are designed to punish us because we didn’t vote for Trump. To the editor: I was watching the national news when a bulletin flashed across the screen reporting a violent riot in Washington, D.C. In horror and disbelief, I watched as a mob of President Trump’s loyalists attacked the U.S. Capitol and Congress. It was reported earlier that day that Trump provoked his followers to “fight like hell” to prevent the electoral college results from being officially counted, confirming Joe Biden’s victory.
