Is Minnesota now a better place?

To the editor:

On Sunday I read an article in the Star Tribune about two women arrested and handcuffed in the back of a car. An ICE agent in the front seat of the vehicle had a seizure. As the man was losing consciousness, they asked to be freed of the handcuffs and administered life-saving first aid to the agent. Tippi Amundson, a kindergarten teacher with CPR training, held the agent’s head so body fluids would not collect in his throat and strangle him. She realized that the agent would not have done the same for her.

After an ambulance took the agent to the hospital, the women asked if they could just go home. Instead ICE took them to a containment center at Whipple Federal Building.

Is this what America has become? Can anyone tell me that these last three weeks with ICE patrolling our streets have made Minnesota a better place?
