Don’t believe AP poll on immigration is accurate
To the editor:
A front page Journal article on July 12-13 spoke of US views from a “Gallop Poll”. The Associated Press article said the polls suggest U.S. citizens have decreasing support for President Trump’s deportations and “other anti-immigration policies”. I believe quite the opposite is true. President Trump and U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement leader Tom Homan have huge support in their mission to deport illegal aliens from this country. Immigration Czar Kamala Harris under Joe Biden was an embarrassment. I hope both Trump and Homan keep the hammer down and roll on full steam ahead.
Always ask yourself what the people taking the poll are trying to prove. Pay attention to how the question was asked. Always read articles from main stream media (Associated Press) with healthy skepticism. The U.S. allows about 1,000,000 legal immigrants into the U.S. every year since 1990. Most of us (red or blue) think this is healthy for our country. It is the illegal immigrant we oppose. The illegal immigrant cheapens the efforts of the legal immigrants who: learn English, study the Constitution and Bill of Rights, take a test (in English), swear an oath to the United States of America, and agree to remove their loyalty to their former country (they do not wave the flag of their former country and shout curse words at demonstrations).
The process of legal immigration can take years. Why should we allow millions of illegal aliens to simply “jump the border”? Democrats like to talk about due process. Illegal immigrants have no right to due process, they are illegal. Deport them. The US currently has about 1,300,000 illegal immigrants who have been through the legal process, (and have deportation orders). They simply do not leave under their own power. Round them up and forcefully remove them.
I suggest Journal readers (red and blue) get on the internet and search for “Immigration and world poverty explained with Gumballs by Roy Beck”. Hopefully you find the You Tube video. One of the best visual 6:13 minutes you can spend on immigration education.
