To the editor:

As we approach July 4 , Independence Day, we think of the blessings to live in these United States of America. This will be the 249th Anniversary of this Nation.

No other country can approach the freedoms we enjoy and we think of all the service men and women who gave their lives to keep this country free.

Have we made mistakes, yes. However, we know of no other nation that has worked so hard to correct them. From the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican American War, the American Civil War, and various conflicts with Native American Tribes. This country has come together in time of need.

We should be grateful to live in a country where we can disagree and still live in peace. Yes, there are tragedies across this nation and we need the Good Lord to guide our leadership through these troubled times.

Our service men and women helped also in World War I and World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

At this time, we are in chaos through out the country with riots and dissension and we need the Lord’s help.

Pray for our nation every day for the care the Good Lord gives to all. As has been said, “We Are One Nation Under God with Liberty and Justice for All”
