I’m in with the in crowd
To the editor:
So, I was rebuked for one of my recent letters for echoing a sentiment expressed by angry Americans at town halls across the country on the rare occasions the spineless right show up to face the music in the form of uncomfortable questions for their support of a convicted felon with a spurious character and an agenda that threatens to destroy our Constitution and country.
The denialism and utter refusal to accept the obvious criminal and authoritarian instincts of a man who narrowly weaseled his way into the presidency — with selfish help in the form of an enormous cash flow from the immensely popular drug fiend, Elon Musk – is incomprehensible. This administration’s attacks on the co-equal branches of our government are things that prompted our founding fathers to embrace rebellion against the Crown and implement our Constitution. That’s the document to which the President and all the other elected officials in the House and Senate and Supreme Court swore an oath (with a hand on a Bible, mind you) “to preserve, protect, and defend.”
Forty-seven now absent-mindedly simpers that he’s not sure he has to uphold the esteemed document. Speaking of Elon Musk, will all of his DOGE savings be enough to cover our Authoritarian’s Day Parade on June 14, and/or 47’s birthday gift to himself of an aging Qatar jet? Since the break-up between our former co-President and 47, I’m curious, with how much sensitive information did Musk abscond? Even the president might now feel vulnerable. I’m surmising Elon has information which could prove to be dangerous for our country, too.
Since the gloves are off between the President and Musk, who’s laughing now? Well, it does give me pause for an occasional bemused smile, or perhaps a smirk, but these two spoiled children’s discomfiture seems poetic justice for the hell they’ve unleashed on America and its people.
