Trump signs in front of cameras

To the editor:

I have read with great interest (and a lot of amusement) “Public Forum” from Mr. Keith R. Klawitter for some time. I have had many requests to write a letter in response to Mr. Klawitter’s rants about President Trump. So far, I have refrained from comment on his letters. Mr. Klawitter’s most recent letter (5-22-2025), caused me to laugh for what seemed like an eternity. I simply can’t remain silent after that one.

Mr. Klawitter spent some time talking about the difficult situation known as Alzheimer’s disease. I have personally witnessed the devastation Alzheimer’s brings to families and loved ones affected by this unfortunate disease. Many times the affected person doesn’t even realize they have a problem, and over time, simply regresses into their own world. I think most Americans realized that former President Biden suffered from dementia during his term, and still is afflicted at least to some degree, with memory and cognitive issues.

Mr. Klawitter went on to indicate “47” (President Trump) has “routinely erratic speech and actions”. I urge everyone to watch President Trump’s speeches. Spontaneous, and completely coherent subject matter. By comparison, Biden read (or mumbled) off the teleprompter, and even then, often strayed off topic. Mr Klawitter said Trump’s loyalists explain to Trump what he just signed after he signs something. I wonder if Mr. Klawitter has ever actually watched President Trump sign anything. President Trump always signs after the paper is explained to the public, and then actually signs the order in front of cameras and in person with an actual pen. Unlike former President Biden (or unknown persons) who used Biden’s “Autopen”.

Which brings me back to the beginning of my letter. I couldn’t help but find amusement that Mr. Klawitter was actually describing former President Bidens’ strange actions and state of confusion while ranting about President Trump.
