A concept of a plan
To the Editor:
Someone commented to me that I don’t have an endgame or goal with all of my letter-writing. That couldn’t be more wrong. I think I’ve been quite transparent. I’ve had “a concept of a plan” since day one, and that is to point out the obvious dangers of a possible return to the White House by the failed, felonious, and former President.
I understood from the start that I was not going to be popular with the greater Minnesota populace. I understood that I wasn’t going to change the minds of rabid MAGA devotees.
I felt the need to speak up for people that wouldn’t or couldn’t object to the clearly objectionable character of the former President. Peer pressure can be an ominous specter for people that don’t want to rock the boat. For those people, I’m here for you and with you. And in lots of ways, they’ve buoyed me with their quiet support; nevertheless, it’s support that can’t be denied. I feel a little bit like the lyric from “Rhinestone Cowboy” by Glen Campbell: “Getting cards and letters from people I don’t even know…and offers coming over the phone.”
Don’t worry, people. Your secrets are safe with me.
I alluded to this earlier, and it’s been a question that’s perplexed me for more than just the past three and one-half years. The DFL stands for Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. Why the disconnect by farmers to stand with the GOP? Why the disconnect from decency to support a party that’s being held hostage by a person found guilty of 34 felony counts?
Sadly, the problem isn’t going to end whenever the former president is eventually out of the picture. He is just the host to which the parasitic GOP has attached itself. The likes of Project 2025 and other ultra-conservative groups has some draconian plans to take America backward.
We can’t let that happen. Vote Blue.
