To the editor:

I am writing this letter in support of Marc Chadderdon for Nicollet County Sheriff. I voted for Dave Lange when he first ran 20 years ago but as times change and new ideas are brought up it is time for the changing of the guard.

As former Mayor of Nicollet I had the opportunity to work with both Candidates. They both have some outstanding qualities but I have always believed in term limits for elected officials. With that being said I believe Marc Chadderdon brings new ideas and enthusiasm for this position. The expectation of the Sheriff is different than it was 10-20 years ago and there are new challenges that our county faces and I believe Marc Chadderdon has the answers and resources to face them.

Sheriff Lange didn’t decide to run or retire until days before the deadline. Marc Chadderdon has the full endorsement of the Nicollet County Sheriffs Deputy’s so my decision is made.

I was disappointed when Sheriff Lange in the beginning with only a few weeks on the job decided to sue Nicollet County for several thousand dollars to raise his annual salary. I am supporting the best man for the job as Nicollet County Sheriff Marc Chadderdon. Phil Drietz
