To the editor:

We have an opportunity coming up by choosing a mayor to help lead our city into the future and to represent us at various city events. Although the role of mayor is mostly ceremonial, perception in today’s world can make big differences.

We’ve known and observed Kathleen Backer in her many leadership roles over 40-some years in New Ulm. We can not imagine anyone better prepared to sing the praises of our community. She has demonstrated organizational skills as well as excellent communication abilities! Ever heard of the Brown County Historical Society?

Anyway, we encourage you to vote in November and and specifi cally choose Kathleen our next mayor!
