To the editor:

I am writing this letter to the editor to voice my support for Marc Chadderdon. Marc is running for Nicollet County sheriff. I have known Marc since 1989 when I was a LeCenter police officer. I worked with Marc from 1994 up until I retired in 2017. Over the years Marc has proven to be a oustanding officer of the law enforcement. He is a leader in the law enforcement community and has done may great things. Google his name and you will find some of the great things he had did for Nicollet County and the surounding area.

From talking with my past co-workers from Nicollet County and area departments, pretty much everyone is 100% in agreement that Marc will be a great sheriff, and he is who we are supporting. Everyone is surprised that Sheriff David Lange is running again. He has asked many of my friends who are either with Nicollet County or other departments if they would run for Nicollet County sheriff this term, as he was thinking about retiring. To me he doesn’t want the job. If he wanted the job, he would not have asked others to run against Chaddeerdon.

I know for a fact that Lange is of retirement age and can collect over 100% of his current pay. Also, Nicollet County elected officials also receive a year of 100 % paid insurance for each term elected. This is paid for by your tax dollars.

Lange can say he had run uncontested since he was elected 20 years ago. Well, the truth of the matter is that no one dared run against him simply because it is hard to beat an imcumbent, and no one wanted to be without a job if they would not have won the election.

People also need to remember that when Lange was first elected, there was lengthy lawsuit. He sued the county over wages.

Its time for a new sheriff in town. That new sheriff should be Marc Chadderdon. He wants the job and will do great things for Nicollet County. I know that Marc has the majority support of the Sheriff’s Office staff.

I think all elected officals should be limited to two terms. Nicollet County residents, you need a change. Change is good! Vote for marc Chadderdon.
