To the editor:

Please remember to vote in the important up-coming primary election on Aug. 9, 2022. New Ulm is fortunate to have several candidates who are seeking the office of mayor of New Ulm for a four-year term.

New Ulm is in an exciting place right now. Our community has several new businesses and many promising young entrepreneurs. We have so many positive draws to our city. Our schools, churches, recreation, shopping and dining as well as new housing choices make this a great community to work, celebrate, learn and live in a safe environment. In order to inspire and keep the momentum going, we need a leader who is involved, informed and will listen to and share ideas and recommendations with the city council. We strongly believe Kathleen Backer will lead with confidence and be a great ambassador for New Ulm.

There are several reasons that convince us she would serve our beautiful city so well. To name just a few, she is a native of New Ulm and has spend most of her life here. She has dedicated herself to life-long learning from elementary through college and excelled at every level. She has an excellent track record of accomplishment in working with organizations and various fields of business. She is a natural leader and incredibly positive and enthusiastic person. She has a wide range of experience in working within all levels of local, regional and state government. She is an energetic and exciting person who will quickly grasp the core issues when making leadership recommendations and decisions. She meets people well and will be a great ambassador for our city. Most of all she has the passion, desire and energy to be the next mayor of New Ulm.
