Inclusion of all people is not grooming or indoctrination

To the editor:

The goal of a Human Rights Commission is to make sure all humans are respected and no one is discriminated against based on who they are. Despite what members of a radical and misinformed local group would have you think, there is no inside “woke” conspiracy to groom children. That’s ridiculous and quite honestly insulting to our Human Rights Commission, local educators and School Board.

Your local school has no plans to indoctrinate children, change their sexuality (which is not even possible given that orientation and identity is not a choice) or any other scare tactic recent letter writers have insinuated. Inclusion and representation are not grooming and indoctrination.

Students should be accepted for who they are. Families should be accepted for who they are. Period. Any attempt to thwart this is a potential attack on their human rights.
