Machiavellian corruption of many by few

To the editor:

This past Friday, June 24, the United States democracy finally came to an end. When the U.S. came into being on July 4, 1776, we were truly a democracy, a government of the people. History has shown us that all governments come to an end.

The scientist and philosopher Iain McGilchrist has pioneered our understanding of how the two hemispheres of the brain see the world differently. The right sees a universe of creative capacity, while the left only sees certainty and rigidity. He then tells us that all nations start out being right-brained and then slowly descend into a rigid and rule driven left-brained structure before the finally perish.

This is the story of the descent of the United States of America. From a democracy ruled by the people, we descended into an oligarchy, ruled by the privileged. The next two downward devolutions were when we became a plutocracy, ruled by the wealthy and lately a kleptocracy, ruled by the corrupt. On this past Friday, June 24, 2022, we became a theocracy, ruled by the religious.

A recent poll has shown that 80% of Americans approve of abortion, while only 20% are against. What a Machiavellian corruption of the many by the few.

In a democracy, women would have free access to abortion and control of their own bodies. Not anymore. Our Supreme Court has now said no to the American people, thereby ending democracy and manifesting that religion will govern us. Shame especially on the three Donald Trump appointees who gave false testimony to become judges and then acted in opposition to their testimony when they voted. These three need to be removed for their misdeeds.

What can we do? The answer is, get out and vote so we can fight back against these rascals who would work to kill our freedom. We do not battle against God, but against those hypocrites who believe it is only they who speak for him. We can overcome if we have the mind determination to fight and bring back democracy at the polling booth.
