Make a $10,000 difference for $100

To the editor:

I wanted to let the community know about an awesome opportunity coming to the New Ulm Area in October. A new organization is forming here in Brown County with the intent of joining together 100 women (or more) to bless a local non-profit with $10,000.

Here is how it works: 100+ women gather together and each pledge to donate $100. Each member nominates one non-profit. Three nominations are drawn out of a hat.

Those women that nominated the organization (or a representative) each have 5 minutes to tell how a $10,000 donation would make a difference to their cause. The attendees then have 5 minutes to ask questions of each nominee. Votes are cast and one non-profit receives all of the $100 checks for a total of $10,000.

Wow! I’d like to encourage you to join our group, 100 Women Who Care New Ulm Area. You can find out more online at 100women-newulm.org. The first event will be Sunday, Oct. 17, from 6-7 p.m. at Turner Hall. Join us to make a difference!
