Unattended garden

To the editor:

What happens to a garden that is unattended? It fills with weeds of judgment, thorns of hate, and thistles of fear. Being made in the image of God, every human has a soul and a heart – and that is where being identical in our creation ends.

When we leave our young children to monitor themselves regarding sexual identity and option, we’re absolutely doing them an injustice: we leave them without guidance, support, safety, acceptance, love, respect, and bravery.

I’m not going to try and convince anyone that gender identity isn’t guided confusion by an “immoral sexual revolution” because it’s common knowledge that we’re all wired differently. No human is the same. To think otherwise closes one off to a greater world beyond themselves and what makes them comfortable. How disheartening.

To deny my child his true identity could have had far greater consequences vs. forcing him to fit into the mold of society where cherry picking parts of the Bible is acceptable for judgment against him. He IS who God created him to be – it just took a little longer to get there. My son is transgender, healthy, happy, loved, and ALIVE.

Don’t like that he doesn’t fit a mold? Good news: it’s none of your business. See Matthew 7:1 “Do not judge so that you will not be judged.”
