Great news! The Texas “Abortion Ban” was approved by the Supreme Court last week by a vote of 5 to 4. The ban prevents abortions performed after 6 weeks of gestation, because the baby’s heartbeat can then be clearly detected. Actually, the baby’s heartbeat, in many cases, can be detected at 18 days, but at least 6 weeks is a step in the right direction to saving babies’ lives.

Texas joins Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Michigan, Mississippi, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Wisconsin in the “6 week Heartbeat Ban on Abortion” in 2021. Previously Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi and Ohio, have already passed the “6 week Heartbeat Ban on Abortion.”

You might ask, “Where does our great state of Minnesota stand in the “Right to Life of the Unborn?” Our Democratic Governor Tim Walz has compiled a “zero percent” pro-life voting record. He voted against protection for the unborn babies after 20 weeks. Walz is in favor of taxpayer funding of abortion and against care for newborn babies who survive abortion. Walz proposed to cut funding of the “Positive Alternative Act,” which provides help to pregnant women for alternate choices to abortion. He also gave $100,000 of COVID-19 relief money to Planned Parenthood and other abortion clinics! Thank God, we have a “First Choice Pregnancy Services” facility right in New Ulm. We ask for prayers for our legislators to override Governor Walz’s insensitivity to continued bloodshed of our nation’s innocent babies!

The following states, (Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Montana, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, West Virginia and Wyoming), have addressed many facets of abortion concerns: banning medical induced abortions, which can cause severe hemorrhaging or possible death; banning constitutional right to abortion except in case of rape or incest; promoting administering life sustaining care to “born alive infants” surviving a botched abortion; requiring ultra-sounds, and parental premisssion; and in some states banning abortions after 20 or 24 weeks of gestation. These are all small steps, but at any rate, steps in the right direction to recognizing “LIFE” from the moment of conception! As Texas Governor Greg Abbott profoundly stated, “Always defend the right to life. No freedom is more precious than LIFE ITSELF!”

According to the Sept. 3, 2021 headline of The Journal, we have a “Pregnancy Pandemic!” The women of Texas must need more educational learning on human reproduction. Except for rape or incest, every female should be made aware of the implications and responsibilities of consensual sexual union. We all need to take responsibility for our actions. Life is a “God Given Gift!” To murder a life is against God’s Laws!

We don’t ignite a fire and then yell “FIRE!”
