The day before, the day after

To the editor:

Is NPR reliable? One letter has said yes. Another has said no. Here is a pertinent quotation:

“NPR was caught publishing totally different narratives about COVID-19 the day before and the day after Biden’s inauguration. The final day of the Trump presidency, NPR breathlessly noted the coronavirus ‘death rate accelerates.’ However, the day after Biden was inaugurated suddenly and spectacularly that same NPR went with the headline ‘Deadly U.S. Coronavirus Surge Has Peaked.’ Life comes at you fast, bro.” (Steve Deace and Todd Erzen, Faucian Bargain – The most powerful and dangerous bureaucrat in American history, pp. 38-39).

That and eight similar items are prefaced by this: “Look no further than how narratives began to miraculously change after Joe Biden was declared the 2020 election winner.”
