Support Larry Mack

To the editor:

I support electing Larry Mack to become president of the New Ulm City Council.

I have read all letters to the Journal editor in support of the two candidates running for this city leadership position.

Mack, however, has six years of actual experience working for his fourth ward constituents. During this time, he has spent countless hours bringing the concerns and opportunities of New Ulm citizens to the attention of his fellow councilors.

He is capable of always thinking “out-of-the-box” for solutions concerning complex problems that come to the attention of the council.

As a city council team member, he has worked well on many projects that brought recognition and prosperity to the community at-large. He is a long range thinker, planner and doer.

He is a good listener of the citizens’ viewpoints and is readily available to get their input. He has a servant’s heart when it comes to providing sweat equity and more when the task at hand calls for it.

During his council tenure, he has become very familiar with the workings and recommendations brought to the council by the City Manager and his staff, which helps the city run smoothly and in a fiscally sound manner. He is well positioned to lead our city government with integrity and unswerving perseverance. He is committed to focus on the city’s economic vitality.

The attributes of an outstanding city council president include: integrity, multifaceted leadership skills, and a strong work ethic, and these fit the character profile of Larry Mack.

He does his research when asked to work on council work groups and city commissions. He definitely has a “can-do-attitude” on whatever he is tasked to do, providing timely follow up and keeps his word.

If you have not already voted, I encourage all eligible voters to VOTE, for sure by Nov. 3! Your vote counts!

Larry Mack’s local government experience, with a record of being a 100% advocate and promoter of all things beneficial for New Ulm, counts, too!
