To the editor:

A recent letter to the editor recommends the video of a Wisconsin Catholic priest whose intemperate views are not in accord with the universal teaching of the Catholic Church, nor with the teaching of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. While most Catholics accept their church’s teaching regarding abortion, most Catholic voters do not cast their ballots on the basis of that issue alone. They also take into account additional pro-life issues, for example: safely navigating the nation through the pandemic crisis, universal health care, mitigating climate change, affordable housing, improving the education system, comprehensive immigration reform, sensible gun control measures, addressing structural racism, and structuring the economy and tax system to better serve the common good.
