2020 questions to consider

To the editor:

There are some questions to consider before making a decision in this year’s election. One is: Why? During many summer months leading up to this point in the election why is it that a candidate for president of the United States was not eager to set himself before the people who have such an important choice to make in November? Why are the questions asked of him now hand-picked by those who have a vested interest in seeing him elected – while President Trump fields any question thrown at him? Why is Biden so often limited to situations in which he can use a teleprompter? Why are his supporters so reliant on political ads (paid for by Soros, Gates, and Bloomberg, etc.) which can be edited to eliminate evidence that he may be declining? And why did Biden finally now come forward to exhibit heightened outrage over the rioting and violence only after the polls showed it would be politically advantageous? Why?

Another question for voters: Is Biden the example of decency he wants us to believe? (The answer to that question is important because some never-Trumpers are convinced that President Trump has the monopoly on being the worst moral example.) At the DNC Joe Biden set forth in his speech that he is an example of decency, whereas President Trump is the opposite. Really? An election year, sad to say, is a time to dig up dirt. I am not going to make a detailed list of examples of Biden’s rude, unethical, self-serving, sometimes tawdry behavior and indiscretions, but suffice it to say that if one wanted to do so it very well might be done. (We could ask Kamala Harris about that. She supported women making sexual misconduct claims against Biden. That is, until she became his VP choice. Have you heard anything about this in the MSM lately?) But rather than comparing dirty laundry lists let’s set policies and accomplishments side by side. Who will be best for America at this point in its history?

Before stepping into the voting booth or mailing in your absentee ballot consider: Why are we not seeing more of Joe Biden without his teleprompter? What have we seen when he speaks off the cuff? The debate should be an indicator, but whether he does well or not, a president needs to be able to do more than “pull it together” for a certain situation. Do we really want to make our choice this year based on whether Biden’s life has been more exemplary than President Trump’s or whether he can have enough stamina to get through one debate? Who has done more for a wide segment of the American population? Biden in 47 years or President Trump in four? Who will be able to lead our country in these challenging times? Who?
