To the editor:

There exists stark contrast when measuring desire against ability, between popularity versus proven leadership which is why I feel compelled to author this letter of support on behalf of Larry Mack to become New Ulm’s next City Council President.

Larry possesses a unique skill set of understanding and appreciating New Ulm’s deep and treasured history; he has faithfully served as an employee of one of New Ulm’s largest companies, 3M; as a private business owner he understands the multiple challenges faced by small businesses. Having served on New Ulm’s City Council for the past six years, he has

first-hand experience on the inner workings of our local government.

Having returned to New Ulm after nearly forty years I have come to appreciate what a truly special city we have. However, having been blessed to serve in executive management within large international corporations as well as begun several successful medical ventures, I have been able to view New Ulm through unique outside perspectives and conclude that strong andvisionary leadership will be required to guide this city to the challenges that lie ahead.

I have been impressed with Larry’s candor, empathy and desire to understand specific issues. Above all else I see the deep love that this person has for New Ulm and uncompromisingpassion to preserve its historical legacy while tirelessly working to provide opportunities for its citizens.
