Black Lives Matter, in their own words

To the editor:

#BlackLivesMatter has a web site: blackLivesMatter.com I just copied and pasted the paragraph on this web page below. They DO NOT encourage violence. In fact, they are various conflict resolution tools on their web pages.

“#BlackLivesMatter was founded in 2013 in response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin’s murderer. Black Lives Matter Foundation, Inc is a global organization in the US, UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes. By combating and countering acts of violence, creating space for Black imagination and innovation, and centering Black joy, we are winning immediate improvements in our lives.”

There are always people who do bad things, but just because of those minority, labeling organizations or groups as such is justified? And, are we absolutely, positively, and unequivocally sure that people who caused chaos and violence were only and/or true “official” members of #BlackLivesMatter who believe their mission?
