United We Stand
To the editor:
I voted for President Trump in 2016 with many reservations; I didn’t feel I had another choice. Now I believe that, with his business experience, he has done as good a job as possible in handling this current, unprecedented challenge, using knowledge gained from experts as it becomes available. He has also taken the country in a positive direction in the past three years (prior to Covid-19). His thick skin has kept him going; I can’t believe he has accomplished what he did in the face of such unrelenting, corrupt opposition. For the sake of our country, the left should be setting aside their differences and work with their president through these difficulties. (To begin with I thought that even they might see the greater good and get beyond politics and partisanship — but they can’t get themselves to do it because they don’t want him to succeed even if it is what is good for America.) I hope that those who are considering another alternative to President Trump in November will look at the big picture. This is not the time for upheaval. If the left succeeds, American values and freedoms based on our constitution will disappear for our children and grandchildren. We need to unite behind our president to preserve the America we love.
