Stop the killing

To the editor:

Isn’t it ironic! Our nation is doing everything we can to stop the spread of the coronavirus and subsequent deaths of many people, and at the same time Governor Tim Walz, Commissioner Jan Malcolm, many Minnesota legislators, and too many residents, do nothing to stop the killing of unborn children via abortion, as condoned and encouraged by Planned Parenthood.

On March 19 Governor Walz signed Executive Order 20-09, directing that non-essential procedures (defined as those that can be delayed without threat to the patient’s life) be postponed for the duration of the peacetime emergency declaration. Abortions are almost always elective surgical procedures that can be delayed or avoided entirely without danger to the patient’s life.

Since when is the murder of unborn children a permissible activity? How can our Governor and legislators stand idly by and permit Planned Parenthood and other abortion facilities to continue their killing when other “Health and safety activities such as obtaining emergency services or medical supplies” are being used by the abortion industry? It does not make sense for such twisted and immoral thinking.

Minnesota citizens, send letters to Governor Walz and Commissioner Jan Malcolm, and your local senators and representatives, as I have done. Let them know that you are urging them to immediately prohibit all elective abortions in order to safeguard the health and welfare of all Minnesotans.
