New Ulm Area Emergency Food Shelf

To the editor:

You’ve likely been following the news about coronavirus and, like us, are responding to minimize the impact in our community. We want you to know that the New Ulm Area Emergency Food Shelf is committed to protecting the health of our entire community while continuing to meet the critical need for meals as our area communities and economy are impacted by the virus.

We will continue to be open for clients to receive food. Please follow these guidelines when visiting the Food Shelf.

Participants to receive food:

Stay home if you are sick or are experiencing any of the symptoms of the coronavirus

One person per family

Please leave all boxes and bags at home, we will provide you with prepackaged boxes or bags.

Follow the instructions that will be posted outside the building when you arrive.

Volunteers:

Stay home if you are sick or are experiencing any of the symptoms of the coronavirus, call 507-354-7668 to let us know if you are staying home.

Enter through the garage and wash hands throughly before handling any food.

This may be a step back from our new process but feel it is necessary to ensure that we are doing this to protect all that are involved with the Food Shelf. We wish the best for everyone including our great area people who help support our Food Shelf. We will post any updates to our Face Book page New Ulm Emergency Food Shelf.
