Our Glockenspiel
To the editor:
The Glockenspiel is silent.
Its bells don’t make a sound.
Its figures are reliant,
For they still spin around.
The people come to listen.
They stop, but nothing’s heard.
Some come as on a mission.
The clock’s without a word.
What can be done to fix it
And make it sound again
So that the bells will emit
Their joyful sound? Amen.
