Why Israel deserves criticism

To the editor:

One does not see it very often: “Israel deserving of criticism.” That was the heading of a brief letter in the March 11 Journal.

That proposition finds ample support in such books as “They Dare to Speak Out – People and Institutions Confront Israel’s Lobby” by Paul Findley, and “The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy” by John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt. A website that might be consulted is natsummit.org.

To the material that has long been available on the 1967 Israeli attack on the USS Liberty, such as the book “Assault on the Liberty” by James Ennes, may now be added the 2018 book by Joan Mellen: “Blood in the Water – How the US and Israel Conspired to Ambush the USS Liberty.”
