Taxpayers shouldn’t have to pay for school mental health services

To the editor:

I absolutely approve of the student support programs and mental health services being made available to our children in the public schools.

But tax payers in the local school districts — including parochial — will have to shoulder the financial burden. That is unfair.

These mental health services should be readily available from within local medical facilities, but they are not and never will be.

Why? Because of Republican fiscal conservatism for 95 percent of Republican existence — and especially since President Ronald Reagan’s administration.
