New Ulm gas prices still highest
To the editor:
Why are gasoline prices in New Ulm the highest in the area year after year? And who in New Ulm sets the gasoline price and keeps it so much higher than area cities?
New Ulm prices Wednesday ranged from $2.39 to $2.46. Meanwhile, Mankato prices ranged from a low of $2.22.
A corporate station in Sleepy Eye was charging $2.22 Wednesday while a station with the same name in New Ulm was charging 25 cents more per gallon. Surely, it can’t cost that much more to truck gas another 14 miles!
The Chamber says we should shop locally, but the wheelers and dealers in the gasoline business seems to discourage this.
