Everybody’s vote counts today
To the editor:
In Monday’s Journal, when asked (in the “What’s On Your Mind” featurer) whether he would vote, one man responded that he didn’t intend to vote because HIS vote doesn’t matter. In a manner of speaking he has a point. HIS vote doesn’t matter. It’s highly unlikely that HIS vote will change the outcome of any, but the smallest election. So if he focuses solely on himself, that rationale works.
But EVERYBODY’s vote does count. But for that distinction to work, HE has to vote. HE has to vote with and for like minded people, as a collective. That will ensure that HIS voice and opinions are represented as well as can be.
The only real time that HIS vote doesn’t matter is if HE doesn’t exercise HIS privilege to “matter”!
