To the editor:

Getting old, as they say, is not for sissies. But at least, as they also say, there’s Social Security and Medicare to look forward to. At least there will be until Mitch McConnell and the Republicans get their hands on it. Republicans have vowed to “reform” Social Security and Medicare to pay for the budget deficit left by last year’s tax cuts for billionaires. If you are a senior citizen, or think you may be one some day, please vote for Democrats like Dan Feehan, Tina Smith and Amy Klobuchar. After all, Democrats invented Social Security and Medicare, and they will protect it if they are in the majority in Congress.

If you are younger and don’t want to have to worry about losing your health insurance because of pre-existing conditions, please vote for Dan Feehan for the U.S. House and Tina Smith and Amy Klobuchar for the U.S. Senate. They will fight to protect your health insurance.
