To the editor:

As a longtime advocate for the expansion of Highway 14, I have seen first hand how hard Rep. Paul Torkelson has worked in the Minnesota House to make the project a reality. He helped secure the funding to expand from North Mankato to Nicollet, completed in 2016. He helped secured funding the New Ulm Gateway project that is currently under construction.

In May 2018, Highway 14 and other Greater highway projects were entirely left out of MnDOT’s proposals. Torkelson was very vocal and was key in reaching a compromise that fully funded the next item on MnDOT’s list, Highway 14 between Owatonna and Dodge Center.

With Torkelson’s track record, he will be a key leader in seeing the last segment of Highway 14 secure funding to complete the project. If re-elected, I look forward to working him to get the job done.
