Scouting for Food this Saturday

To the editor:

This Saturday morning, March 24, Troop 25 Boy Scouts will be up and ready to go to pick up food for their annual “Scouting For Food” service project. We’re hoping every single house will participate by grabbing some nonperishable food and toiletry items and put them in a bag. Then if you would, please hang the bag on your door knob (or set the food in a very visible place a car could see from the road) before 9 a.m. Please mark the bag “Scouting For Food” or use the Post-it-Note the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts placed on your door.

The scouts and their driver parents will be scouring the town to pick up your donation and bring it to the New Ulm Food Shelf. There, Sarge and his large crew of volunteers will unpack and weigh every donation and carefully sort and place the items on the clean and organized shelves.

The exceptionally cool thing about participating in our Scouting For Food drive is that, for every pound of food you donate, several non-profit companies will MATCH the poundage and it doubles the glory of your donation! Please remember to not be late in putting out your donation since the Scouts drive their routes right away in the morning.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your participation! It means a lot to the Scouts, to the Food Shelf, and most certainly to our local families that need the help.

Yours In Scouting,

Kara Carlson
