To the editor:

Bavarian Blast would like to thank our contributors/sponsors, the countless volunteers, our vendors, the residents of New Ulm, and our tourists. The 2016 Blast had wonderful weather and good attendance. As a board of volunteers, we are appreciative of the support, involvement and commitment to our festival.

Running a non-profit festival is no easy feat, not to mention one that has German roots. Entertainers, marching bands, food and beverage all come at a cost, and one that keeps rising. To keep the festival alive, we plan to make some changes for the 2017 year. Look for a new name, new genres/themes for music and entertainment. We are excited to plan a new festival; one that will hopefully draw a larger crowd and more attendance of area residents.
