To the editor:

Join our 2016 CROP WALK PROJECT. Several of our local churches are involved in the planning of this community event. If unable to walk, please donate to assist Hunger Relief in our world.

Church World Service is the sponsoring organization. It is a cooperative, ecumenical ministry that provides assistance to Hunger and poverty. Water Source Development, Disaster Relief and Education in gardening and farming in the U.S. and throughout the world. “The 2016 focus is on helping those most vulnerable in countries that have the highest death rates among children; all donations received are used where most needed.

This year, our walk materials are focusing on agriculture, community gardens and fanner training which are so important to our mission in helping to feed the hungry. Brown County Area CROP WALK will be on Sunday, May 1st at 1 p.m. starting at the Putting Green (1915 S. Valley St.) walking the bike trail. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. Seventy-five percent of monies raised go to CWS and 25 percent goes to our local food shelf.

This event is about our community working together to make a difference… in our community and in the world. Please join us. You may sign up to walk or donate at several local churches on the day of the walk. Checks can be made out to CWS-CROP.
