Worry about Iran proposal is bipartisan
President Barack Obama takes virtually every opportunity to insist it is Republicans in Congress who are trying to torpedo what he insists is a reasonable plan to keep Iran from building nuclear weapons.
It just isn’t true.
Many lawmakers of both parties are worried about the deal – and they are poised to insist they have a say in it.
A bill requiring giving Congress at least some power over the proposed pact is certain to be approved by both the Senate and House of Representatives.
It was approved this week by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee – in a 19-0 vote. So much for another of Obama’s failures to level with the American people.
