Obama’s concern is spin, not health

Ron Klain, the man President Barack Obama has put in charge of coordinating the national response to Ebola, has no experience in public health or dealing with large-scale disasters. As a former aide to Vice Presidents Joe Biden and Al Gore, he is skilled in making his bosses look good, however.

But Klain is just part of the politicizing of Ebola. After appointing him, Obama said Klain will report to Homeland Security Adviser Lisa Monaco and National Security Adviser Susan Rice.

Yes, that Susan Rice – the one who lied to Americans about the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

Rice led the coverup of what really happened. Days after the attack, she insisted on national television that the assault was a spontaneous reaction by Libyans to an anti-Muslim video.

There was never any reason to believe that was true. To the contrary, even as Rice made the false claim, she and other U.S. officials had reason to believe the attack was a carefully planned terrorist assault of the type against which the Obama administration should have been guarding.

So now, Obama has put a political spin-master in charge of the effort to contain Ebola – and is having another dishonest political hack oversee him.

Obama has become desperate to gain Americans’ trust – but seems unable to recognize actions such as those regarding Ebola are the reason why he lost it in the first place.
