Be careful as restrictions ease

This week the state is relaxing some of the stay-at-home restrictions, which will allow some 100,000 people to return to work. This is coming at a time when the number of COVID-19 cases and virus-related deaths is rising.

On Sunday the state reported 28 new deaths, occuring between 4 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday. All but five of those deaths occured in long-term care facilities.

The total number of comfirmed cases has been rising, a result of more testing being available.

The numbers indicate that the threat of COVID-19 is far from over. As more people head back to work, let us all remember to practice social distancing, wash hands frequently, sanitize things you touch frequently, and above all, stay home if you feel sick.

This situation will get better, but until it does, we all need to be careful and stay safe.
