Mae Vivian Brekken, 100, of Saint James, died Sept. 19, at her home. Visitation will be on 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at the Sturm Funeral Home-St. James Chapel (sturmfh.com) and will continue Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the Hosanna Free Lutheran Church in St. James. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Hosanna Free Lutheran Church. Interment will be at the Albion Lutheran Cemetery in rural St. James. Thomas Postel, 78, of New Ulm, died Sept. 19 at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery, where the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard will provide full military honors. Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes of New Ulm (mvfh.org) is in charge of arrangements.

Gary Syverson, 79, of New Ulm, died Sept. 20 at New Ulm Medical Center.
