Marlin Berg

NEW ULM–Marlin Berg, age 90, of New Ulm passed away Monday, March 9, 2026 at Ridgeway on German in New Ulm.

Marlin is survived by his children, Susan Berg, David Berg (Sara Covich); sister-in-law, Corrine Berg; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Erna Berg; and brothers, Gerald Berg, Roger (Adela) Berg.

Marlin Wayne Berg was born August 30, 1935 to Harry and Verle (Dagget) Berg in Wadena. He graduated from Sebeka High School in 1953 and enlisted in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany. During that time, he met Erna Deuber and the couple was married on August 3, 1957 in Sennfeld, Germany. They made their home in the United States and started their family. Marlin provided for his family by working as a State Trooper starting in the 60’s and retiring after 29 years. After retirement, the couple moved to Fort Myers, Florida and resided there until moving to New Ulm in 2018. In his free time, Marlin enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and just being outside. He especially enjoyed all the traveling he was able to do with Erna and his family. Marlin will be dearly missed by those that knew him.
