Renee Osberg
Nov. 13, 1946-March 1, 2026
Renee (Pearse) Osberg, born November 13, 1946, passed away peacefully on March 1st, surrounded by the love of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Sylvia (Kjelshus) Pearse, and her husband, Allan Osberg. She is survived by her son David Osberg, daughter JoAnn Sprenger (Duane), and daughter Jacqueline DeRuiter; grandchildren Macy Richter (Tyler), Gatlin Richter, and Chase DeRuiter; great-grandchildren Kaiya and Jasper; her twin sister Renette Pearse; and brothers Sheldon Pearse and Franklin Pearse.
She graduated from Hanska High School and later took courses in Minneapolis, beginning her working life in bookkeeping. She had a natural gift for numbers and could balance a checkbook to the penny without effort.
She married Allan Osberg at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church and they made their home in rural New Ulm.
Renee was a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother. She did so much for her children and quietly put them first in ways both big and small. She loved reading to her kids — and later to her grandchildren — and many of them carry memories of sitting beside her, listening to her voice bring stories to life. Her love was steady, generous, and unwavering. She showed up. She remembered the details. She gave freely.
Renee was generous, loving, and fiercely independent. She never complained — not when life was busy, not when things were hard, and not even as her health declined. Her strength was quiet but unmistakable.
A service celebrating Renee’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 10, at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH Chapel. Visitation will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. A private interment will be held at New Ulm City Cemetery.
