SLEEPY EYE–Orpha R. Lendt, 85, of Sleepy Eye, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye, with Reverend Tim Berg officiating. Burial will follow at Home Cemetery, Soldier’s Rest Section, in Sleepy Eye. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026 and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, both at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. Orpha is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Roger) Seidl of Sleepy Eye; her son, Dan (Deanne) Lendt of Sleepy Eye; her grandchildren, Darcy (Andy) Mathews, Dusty Lendt (special friend, Kassie and her children), Brittany (Jordan) Meyer, Landon (Kelsey) Seidl, and Lance Seidl; and her great-grandchildren, Brayden, Trevan, Kenley, Kysen, Madden, Tristan, Lucas, Kale, Kai, Brynlee, and Oakley. She is also survived by her brothers, Murnice (Glennys) Sell and Norman Sell.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Arno Arthur Lendt; sister Lorna (Clarence) Havemeier; sister-in-law, Darleen Sell.

Orpha Sell was born on November 27, 1940, at Union Hospital in New Ulm to Alfred and Ruth (Kiecker) Sell. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1958. On December 26, 1958, she was united in marriage to Arno Lendt at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Following their marriage, the couple farmed in Prairieville Township, Brown County, where they built their life together.

Orpha was a devoted homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She cherished every moment shared with them.

She was a faithful member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye.
