WINTHROP–Alois “Al” Mathias Regner, 85 of Winthrop died peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-South Chapel in New Ulm with Father Tanner Thooft will officiating.  The New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard will provide full military honors at the funeral home after the service. Burial will take place in the Winthrop Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Alois is survived by his wife, Alice Regner of Winthrop; his daughters, Kristina Regner of Bird Island, Amanda Mielke of Winthrop; and his 4 grandchildren.
