Rheeta Irene Albrecht

Rheeta Irene Albrecht, 91, of New Ulm, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the New Ulm Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday,February 6, 2026, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with Pastor Nathan Scharf officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the 11:00

a.m. service.

Rheeta is survived by her daughters, Victoria (Dean) Torvick of New Ulm and Ramona Albrecht of New Ulm; her grandchildren, Andrew (Brianna) Torvick of North Mankato and their children, Gavin and Xander; Sarah (Steven) Burger of Mankato and their sons,

Carlin and George; and Joeleen (Nicholas) Hacker of Hermantown and their children, Callan, Wesley, and Ethan. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Witt of Escondido, California; and her brother-in-law, Rev. Luther (Janet) Albrecht of Romeoville, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Elsa Witt; her husband, Joel Albrecht; brother, James Witt; and her parents-in-law, Rev. Henry and Clara Albrecht.

Rheeta Irene Witt was born on August 30, 1934, to Carl and Elsa (Wiegers) Witt in New Ulm. She graduated from Dr. Martin Luther Academy in New Ulm and later from the University of Minnesota.

Rheeta was united in marriage to Joel Albrecht at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm where she was a member for 91 years. Together, they raised two daughters and made their home in New Ulm.

In addition to being a full-time mother, Rheeta assisted her husband, brother, and sister-in-law in owning and operating Concordia Lanes. In recognition of her dedication and contributions to the sport of bowling, Rheeta was inducted into the New Ulm Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame. She was also a member of the Women’s DAV Auxiliary.

A lifelong member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rheeta was actively involved in Ladies Aid, Choir, WINGS and part of “The Dream Team” bulletin ladies. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, bowling, ceramics, and traveling with her husband. Most of all, Rheeta treasured spending time with friends and family. Rheeta truly enjoyed the Friday Happy Hour Crew! She loved her friends as if they were family.

Rheeta was a wonderful Mother, Grandma, and Great Grandma! A bright light and voice of encouragement to all who knew and loved her.

Rheeta will be deeply missed. Blessed be her memory. Memorials are preferred to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, St. Paul’s Lutheran School, or the donor’s choice.
