Marlene Wallner Schulke

MILTON, GA–Marlene Wallner Schulke, aged 93, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, in Milton, Georgia. Born in New Ulm on June 10, 1932, to Isadore and Marie Wallner, Marlene had three siblings: Shirley Wallner, Kenneth Wallner, and Connie Wallner. She is survived by four children from her marriage to another former New Ulm resident, Phelps ‘Flip’ Schulke: Maria Cohen, Elizabeth (Lisa) Davidson, Paul Schulke, and Robin Chisolm-Seymour, as well as six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, who called her Grandma GG.

After leaving Minnesota and before relocating to Georgia, Marlene lived much of her life in Miami, Florida. She was very active and always up for a challenge, traveling extensively and making new friends wherever she went. Among her many pursuits, Marlene was an accomplished writer, a compassionate community college teacher, a gifted craftsperson, and a dedicated volunteer for numerous causes. Marlene Schulke was a shining light to everyone who knew her.

A memorial service in New Ulm has not yet been planned.
